The idea behind this project was to create a series of spoof social media beauty advertisements. I wanted it to feel fake, artificial, like a fantasy. By glamourizing toxic beauty standards and hacks that young girls see online my aim is to highlight that this is what people find desirable which is worrying. By injecting comic and ironic elements, I’m emphasizing how ridiculous it is that people are promoting these crazy standards.
